President, Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
Bernadette is President of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM) and Point of Care Manager at Naas General Hospital (NGH).
Following her training in the Children’s University Hospital at Temple Street, she became a Staff Grade Medical Scientist at the Metabolic Unit at St Vincent’s University Hospital before taking up the role of Senior Medical Scientist at Rotunda Hospital which she occupied for 21 years.
Prior to her current role at NGH, she was a Senior Medical Scientist working in the Clinical Chemistry Department.
Bernadette is a Fellow of the ACSLM, and her other qualifications include a Higher Diploma in Training and Education and MBA in Healthcare Management.
In addition to her role as ACLSM President, she is Chairperson of the Point of Care Advisory Body and former adjudicator of the Presidents Prize. She is also a member of the National Point of Care Consultative Group, the NPHET SARS- CoV- 2 Antigen Testing advisory subgroup, and HSCP representative on the Acute Medicine Programme and CORU Registration Board.
