Finnian Hanrahan

Scientific Programme Manager, Research Centres, Science Foundation Ireland

At Science Foundation Ireland, Finnian is responsible for Research Centres and policy in the domains of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and health.


Prior to joining Science Foundation Ireland, Finnian worked for the European Commission in Brussels for a number of years. There he worked on vaccine, therapeutic and diagnostic development, with a particular focus on large strategic programmes involving academics, small and medium enterprises, large pharmaceutical companies, and international collaborations.


Finnian has a background in genetics and was awarded a PhD from Trinity College Dublin in 2013.
