Dr. Yvonne Nolan is a Senior Lecturer, Director of the BSc Neuroscience, Funded Investigator in APC Microbiome Ireland, and a Science Foundation Ireland Investigator in University College Cork. She leads a research team investigating the impact of inflammation and lifestyle influences such as exercise, stress and diet on brain plasticity, mental health and memory throughout the lifespan. Yvonne graduated from NUI, Galway with a BSc in Biochemistry and a PhD in Neuropharmacology. She was a visiting fellow at McGill University Montreal, Canada and held academic and industrial postdoctoral positions in Trinity College, Dublin before joining the UCC in 2003.
